Isn’t it just fun to see what the “trends” are each year? If you are more of a classic dresser, you may not care, but some of the classics this year are “trends”.
Sometimes, trends can be “classics”.
Leopard or animal print.
What would a fall be like without animal print in our midst? Let’s face us, so many of us love this leopard signature look, that we aren’t willing to give it up, regardless or trend or not. I consider the leopard print to be more of a classic!
Do take into consideration the material and how the print is presented. It can look cheap, so make sure you are choosing higher quality fabrics to drape yourself in the animal print of choice.
Brown. Chocolate brown to be specific.
If you are tired of wearing black, or maybe your skin tone is not akin to the stark darkness of black, then chocolate brown is your friend! There are countless pieces in chocolate brown from jackets, to sweaters, dresses to pants, and let’s not forget the shoes.
Suede.
Hello 1970! We are here for it. I have several suede moto jackets that I have had for years, both in burgundy and a caramel color that still is popular now. Blazers in a chocolate brown or cognac are showing in retailers, and perhaps you can dig it out of your closet or Fall?winter pieces that have been put away.
I often find suede “vintage pieces” are great to look for thrifting, while looking at the men’s rack for chocolate brown suede blazers ( consider it oversized) or a piece that you have had in your closet forever!
Menswear or Preppy Pieces
I am a fan of menswear, loving this tie, and will often wear blazers with an feminine element. I love the juxtaposition of the masculine/feminine style. Have you seen my latest REEL?There are loads of fresh printed sweatshirts denoting, New York, Paris, and Italia. Try one of these printed sweatshirts under a blazer with denim and some hip sneakers. Casual, but with a vibe, I say.
Romantic Looks
I go between romantic dresses and large florals, to classic pieces, blazers, menswear. The romantic pieces that are showing this season are large florals, ruffles, flowy skirts. Ruffles are BIG. In my reel, I also shared a beautiful pale pink blouse with ruffles down the arm from the collar, down through the arm. The flowy, billowy style was matched with a pair of brown trouser pants that seemed like menswear. Adding a bit of edge, ( through combat boots or another way) is my favorite way of styling some romantic looks. That masculine/feminine vibe is such a modern and fresh look.
Here is a post where I share a bit of a romantic look for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Are you a fan of ruffles or are they too frilly for you!!?b
These are just a few examples of some of the “trends” that are very much wearable this season. Try experimenting. Try going outside your “box”. Have fun with it!
Because, as my friends says, “Fashion should be fun!”.
Tell me which of these would you wear?
