We were headed to The Cottage, a wine bar, I mentioned yesterday where I wore this black and white outfit.
My Outfit and the Combo of Black and White with Color
First, does anyone know where April went? Wow. zooming right along, with May around the corner, I am thinking about travel plans and outfits that I can pack that are wrinkle-free and easy to create into a capsule wardrobe.
Some days I am in a black and white mood, other days color. It really depends on my mood. I just love these Clara Sunwoo chain link split front pants, they not only have a great flow to them, but they will go with any color as well. And, must I say, they are light, wrinkle-free, and like wearing pajama pants! This other pair, of Geo Rectangle, is the same style, different print. If you just want black, in the same style, they are a wonderfully versatile pair as well. I would pack these to go with any colored top in my suitcase, and you can see how easy they would be to style.
I paired it with the Katharine Button down top from Franne Golde and am wearing an XS in both pieces. This top drapes wonderfully and will be a workhorse in your closet. I chose to wear it out, as it has a rounded hem and looked better than tucking into a lighter fabric.
Adding a red, black and white silk scarf, gave a pop of color near my face, which is always something I recommend if you are fair skinned or do not want to wear black near your face. Use accessories, such as earrings, or in this case a scarf to add color near your face, and a pop of color to the outfit. Since black and white are neutrals, any color you pair will work! You could also style this with bookending by wearing some red shoes or sandals as well.
I just love the slit up these pants in this chain print.
