Happy Friday friends,
I am sharing ways to style denim shorts on the blog today.
By now, reading my blog, and IG, you know I don’t feel you’re ever too old to wear what you want. Just wear it with confidence!
Before Autumn arrives, (it really doesn’t get here until the end of October in North Carolina) I wanted to share with you different ways to wear denim shorts.
There is a mix of summer and Fall items in the stores, now, often with great deals to be had on summer wear.
I’ve styled denim shorts over the years, and the key is to find a pair that you enjoy wearing, and feel good in.
Do you throw on a T-shirt with your denim shorts every time you wear them? Are you looking for some more interesting ideas?
These are just some simple ideas with how to style denim shorts and look more put together. Just a bit more elevated than a tee shirt and gym sneakers.
What length do you prefer?
Here is the 11 inch white denim short from NYDJ. If you are interested in this length, you can still use my styling examples.
Ways to Style Denim Shorts
Example #1 below, is wearing a floral mixed medium top, (loft at the time) with jean shorts, white leather slides and my Balenciaga bag. The mix of high end and lower end, works well here to give a bit more put together vibe.
lOOK 2 HERE is me wearing an elegant shell with a halter style ( i love the neckline) with white denim shorts and some espadrille sneakers. The top is dressier than a tee, and the style elevates the look. It’s always important to have the right length for you, when it comes to denim shorts.
This look was fun as it was more of a boho look for me, and a kimono added to a denim short, adds another piece or element to add to the style. Here I am wearing gold espadrilles, and the shorter kimono has those “autumn colors.”
This look, with the added linen blazer, adds more of a defined look as well as some structure. I start to hanker for animal print in August, so a leopard cami is worn with the outfit, and I am wearing leather espadrilles as well.
Here is a white denim short with an all white look. How do you put that together? Look for pieces with texture, either you handbag, or shoes, often times a shirt like this will have details you like ( scalloping ) or eyelet.
Here I am wearing the Vince blazer again, but I am also wearing a neutral pair of sandals, cognac bag, and a tan linen blazer. A neutral look like this can often look quite sophisticated.
