I am sharing today different ways to style a linen or any shirtdress for summer.
More Ways to Wear a Linen Shirt Dress
Ah, summertime! I used to not be a real fan of summer as I always thought it was too hot. However, after living in Lake Norman area of Charlotte, NC, now for 22 years, I’ve really enjoyed the summer months.
Live music, vineyards, breweries, hiking, pool parties and lake adventures, I have gotten to really enjoy the summer. I hope you have too!
One of the things I enjoy is dressing for the Summer months. I have learned to love linen, as prior to a few years ago, it was more of an uncertainty because of the wrinkling factor.
Learning to go with the flow, has been more my mantra in life, and in fashion. Really, the wrinkles are just it’s character. Sound familiar?
I have cotton and linen dresses for summer here and I love the ease of the shirt dress. So, today, I am giving you some other styling options, if you certainly want more than one way to wear it.
Styling Options
Here I am showing you a basic way to style a shirt dress. Often, these linen or other types of shirt dresses, are given a cloth belt of the same fabric. To elevate the look, choose another belt to wear with the shirtdress.
I have chosen a more summery woven belt to wear with this look. Here are some similar options. Here and Here.
You could wear it with a leather belt as well, again, elevating the look.
Wear your dress with trousers. I truly don’t do this, but find some women like to wear their dress over pants.
Along, those lines open the dress, wear it as a duster over a white tee and jeans. This is a fresh and modern way to style this dress and would look fabulous with the blue linen.
Wear an all-white column with the dress open as well. The all-white column could include white jeans, white pants and a white cami or tank top. Wear the dress open and the column look always gives a long, lean look to an outfit.
Some ladies do love their shorts. Pair a longer pair of trouser or chino shorts, a tank and wear the long dress open. Modern and fun. Add some height with a pair of espadrilles, or other casual sandals.
Go totally with a casual vibe, wear it without a belt, and a pair of slides. Add some texture with a woven or rattan bag. Simple and free!
I love to add a neck scarf for some pattern and color. Typically, wear a thin neck scarf and ditch the necklace. No one wants to be hot and sweaty with too many accessories
